Bond Claims

A Mechanic’s Lien cannot be recorded against public property. In general, the government requires that the general contractor furnish a bond that guarantees payment for the workers involved with the project. While available remedies vary from state to state, an unpaid sub-contractor can usually file a lien on the funds appropriated for the job. In some states, Bond Claims can be extended for private projects as well. Your PROLIEN Account Representative will advise you as to your best solution for the state that you are operating in.
